How to Make Custom Telegram Stickers (Free)

April 19, 2026·5 min read

Telegram has some of the best sticker support of any messaging app — you can create full packs, share them publicly, and people anywhere can add your pack. The process for creating them involves Telegram's own Stickers bot, which is straightforward once you know the format requirements.

Telegram sticker requirements

FormatPNG with transparent background
Size512×512 pixels (exactly — one side must be exactly 512px)
File sizeUnder 512 KB
Pack minimumAt least 1 sticker; no maximum
Animated stickersSupported (TGS format — a special Lottie-based format), but requires separate tooling

The 512×512 requirement is strict. Telegram's bot will reject stickers that aren't the right dimensions. You'll need to resize after generating.

Step 1: Generate your stickers

Open stickerforge.app and generate the stickers you want. Since Telegram packs can hold many stickers and people browse them like collections, think about building a themed pack — not just one-offs.

Good pack ideas that work well in Telegram groups:

  • "a tiny clay bear with different moods — 10 variations"
  • "cute food characters with faces — tacos, pizza, sushi, noodles"
  • "animal reaction stickers — agreement, confusion, excitement, exhaustion"

Save each sticker to your device as it generates.

Step 2: Resize to 512×512 PNG

StickerForge generates WebP files. You need square 512×512 PNG files for Telegram. The simplest options:

Squoosh (free, browser-based)

Go to squoosh.app, drag in your WebP, resize to 512×512, set output format to PNG, download. Takes about 30 seconds per sticker.

Mac Preview

Open in Preview → Tools → Adjust Size → set both dimensions to 512px → File → Export as PNG.

Step 3: Create the pack with @Stickers bot

Telegram's official method uses their @Stickers bot:

  1. 1Open Telegram and search for "@Stickers" — it's the official Telegram bot.
  2. 2Send /newpack to create a new sticker pack.
  3. 3Send the name you want for your pack.
  4. 4Send your first sticker image (PNG file) as a document, not as a photo.
  5. 5Send an emoji that represents the sticker when prompted.
  6. 6Repeat for each sticker in the pack.
  7. 7When done, send /publish to make the pack available.
  8. 8Give it a URL handle. Your pack is now public — share the link with anyone.

Important: send images as a file/document, not as a compressed photo. Telegram compresses photos and this will fail the size check.

Sharing your pack

Once published, your pack gets a shareable link: t.me/addstickers/your_pack_name. Send it in any Telegram chat — recipients can add the whole pack in one tap. Packs can also be discovered through Telegram's sticker search.
